Grizz Lee, the American Pop/Hip-Hop artist, just released a new album called "Delusions of a Dope Nobody." Released on Friday, July 25, the album is catchy, energetic, and refreshing.

I interviewed Grizz Lee about the album release and his music background:

London Penny: How did you get into music?

Grizz Lee: I’ve always enjoyed singing. I used to compete in talent shows and county fairs when I was young and when I got a bit older, I picked up the guitar. I dabbled in music up until I joined a band with some kids from school. We tried the band thing for a few years, but eventually I was introduced to FL studio and that changed everything for me. A couple years after that I decided to go the independent artist route.

LP: Who are you influenced by?

Grizz Lee: I’m influenced by Billy Joel, Elton John, Hall and Oates, Supertramp, ABBA and a ton of other artists. I really enjoy most music.

LP: What are the origins behind the name GRIZZ LEE?

Grizz Lee: Well, when I was in high school certain people would call me Der Bear, and I’ve evolved into Grizz Lee. To be honest, I thought of it when I was young, and I just felt like it was different but fun to market.

LP: Let’s talk about your newest album “Delusions of a Dope Nobody.” What was the writing/recording process like?

Grizz Lee: I made every beat on the project, wrote every lyric, executive produced the whole thing and mixed and mastered it as well. So it was very rewarding. I feel these songs came from somewhere else. This album was a gift to me.

LP: What is your favorite track off the album?

Grizz Lee: “Wanna Be” for sure. Can’t beat Yxng Ched and Grizz Lee on the same track!

LP: What’s next - upcoming shows, more music etc.?

Grizz Lee: You’ll just have to wait and see. Enjoy the album in the meantime‼️💛
