I spoke to ATM to get some behind-the-scenes insight about the track:
LP: How did you get into music?
ATM: My brother, best friend, and I started a group; were were always heavily influenced by music - mostly rock and rap. I started writing when I was 15 and put out my first song at 19.
LP: Who are your influences?
ATM: My peers mostly. But I was huge on Strange back in the day. But I am influenced by many rock and hip-hop artists - Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and more.
LP: What was the writing and recording process with “We The People”?
ATM: For the writing, I was in a dark place, feeling people close to me turned on me, didn’t respect me and didn’t value me. But I also mixed in pop culture and cancel culture. Because we the people can change anyone’s opinion on someone, or make change easily.
Recording, I recorded this one with Bailey Parked, and Bills recorded at his home and sent it in to be mixed. Shout out to BLVCKLIGHT Bailey Parker for the mix!
LP: What’s next for you as an artist?
ATM: Next for me is trying to find new ways and goals to achieve and keep going up. Always pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
