Delta Fuse "Teardrops in Spain"

Updated: Jan 5, 2023

Delta Fuse releases another single - and this time, it exhibits a slower, more emotional side of the blues.

“Teardrops in Spain” was released on Friday, May 21 and is the second single off of their upcoming album A Matter of Love and War.

Compared to the first single of “Letter on the Table”, this second single is composed of a track that I find myself drawn to the lyrics more than the music. Still, musically, it is wonderful as the guitar, bass and drums go wonderfully together. The poetic lyrics rise above, and the vocals carry emotion in their grasp.

There is a moment in the song where it simply bursts with emotion: it is a bit like the groove of blues-rock from “Letter on the Table”, but this is much more than just a song that sounds great. This emotional burst really sold me on their sound, as it is wonderful that the softer beginning foreshadows the explosive conclusion.

The accompanying music video is an entertaining collage of nature footage, the band rehearsing, isolation, and burning flames scattered across the imagery. It captures and accents the emotion in the song by exploring the images found in the lyrics. It is a stunning song and naturally the music video had to be stunning, as well, and the result is breathtaking and addicting.

“Teardrops in Spain” is different from their first single from the upcoming album, but it still encourages an anticipation for what Delta Fuse will release next and the album that is to come.
