Leadfeather bursts out of London with an upcoming EP to be released on February 14.
Leadfeather is composed of Apostolos LF on vocals, Simon Hurts on guitar, Daniel Devis on bass guitar and keys, and Thanos P. on drums.
The band finds their influences in a multitude of places:
“We have many influences, probably too many to list them all - but we definitely throw in the mix some old-fashioned blues and ‘70s rock music with many more sounds and instruments from all around the world.”
Leadfeather released their debut single “Roll The Dice” on October 18.
“It’s the story of a man, who although he has a great passion in life of music, he is still hanging onto love and depends on it,” the band says.
There is certainly a heavy influence of Led Zeppelin and Bad Company on this track.
“Danger Zone” followed as the second single released on November 15. The band describes the song as “a story of a man who has been heartbroken by a woman, deeply hurt and being blinded by love made the wrong decisions.”
Third single “Higher” soon followed on December 20. It tells of “a simple truth of how to balance our existence in the universe and what’s the power that can take us higher.”
This song itself has a rather ‘mystic’ vibe to it, less of a hard rock sound as the previous singles did.
Now, in 2025, the band has released two singles - “Shoot For The Stars” and “Why.”
“Shoot For The Stars” tells of “a journey of a person who knows what he wants, determined to succeed and to go all the way to pursue his dream.”
“Why” leans more into philosophy spirituality: “A positive and promising approach humankind should have to overcome any problems and evolve to a collective state of mind. However, accepting that everyone's fragile, but people united are capable of changing the world.”
The music itself not only sounds vintage and retro but was recorded, mixed and mastered using vintage instruments and gear.
Leadfeather says:
“Every song has been recorded, mixed and mastered with vintage instruments and gear, which makes it a real challenge sometimes as you find yourself often playing something that is often fifty or more years old, and you have to approach it how they would have done it back then. But there is no other way I would go about it, honestly. The quality of both sound and composition are my top priorities when it comes to making music, and I just can’t compromise on that.”
Leadfeather’s EP will be released in full on February 14.
