NRF: Connor Selby Continues Blues Rock Saga with a Live Version of "That's Alright"

Connor Selby is someone whose music found me sometime ago that it seems I have been a fan longer than I can remember - but what does stick out is his ability to write not only a good song but a GREAT song. This was exhibited on his debut album Made Up My Mind from 2018.

And Selby returns to the scene with a live version of one of the tracks from that album - "That's Alright". Released on February 19, it is Selby's first single of the year and the blues-rock sound that I came to know off his debut is welcomed and shines through in the live version.

I liked Selby's vocals in the studio version, but they cut through more on this live version and confidence rolls off the music. The translation from studio to live is familiar but at the same time fresh. Featuring Redtenbacher's Funkestra, it is wonderful to hear the song in a live environment.

While the track will not be on the new album of Selby's, this song certainly builds excitement for when the time comes for the next release. If you fancy yourself some rocking blues that carries an element of funk in the sound, you will not be disappointed. For new and old fans of Selby, I believe this is an excellent exhibition of who he is as a musician. Another great song by another great batch of musicians.
