Delta Fuse "Letter on the Table"

Updated: Jan 5, 2023

Delta Fuse was not a name that I was familiar with, but when I heard their sound, I knew that I had heard it before. It was only something that I could describe as occurring when I first heard what is called “rock-n-roll”.

I almost thought that I had put on a ZZ Top song, as the groove seems to reflect that classic blues-rock sound that in my mind is a place that Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix dominate.

This mirage was what first drew me to Delta Fuse’s newest single “Letter on the Table” - but what made me stay was simply how much I enjoyed listening to the song.

I’m a total sucker for a good blues-rock song. I suppose it would explain where much of what is playing through my headphones or speakers comes from. This applies especially to blues from Europe of past and present.

The blues-rockers called Delta Fuse hail from Northern Ireland - so, it is, perhaps, only natural that I would dig their sound. “Letter on the Table” is a 5-minute long exhibition of pouring freshness into a sound that I already adore. Yes, you can hear the influences of the past, but it is nice to hear as it lets their own sound and song leap out at you from this launch point.

Give this ‘cut-throat, Brothel Blues Rock’ band a listen as you will find your expectations met and even exceeded! Let your intrigue be built by the ZZ Top-esque intro but stay for the lingering effects of a good blues song about heartbreak. It is at surface-level one of those songs that is catchy, but it also builds expectations for their upcoming music.

Because you cannot go wrong with the blues; so, if I was you, I would welcome the blues of today’s scene into your idea of what “rock-n-roll” is as you may find that the overlapping is a wonderful aspect that you can never get enough of.

This is their first single off of their upcoming album A Matter of Love and Hate.
