Katarina Marcinger "Air Drunk"

For the first single off of her upcoming album Love on Slow Burn, London-based pianist Katarina Marcinger has unlocked an emotional outpouring of music. Based on some of her own life struggles, she hopes to help people through difficult times in their own lives.

Emotional based music is something that I believe should be involved almost inherently, but Katarina takes it to the next level with her music. Her emotions are real, honest, vulnerable, but also strong. This is part of what makes her music not only music but transforming into art.

Classical music is old school emotion, and new age meditation music evokes some of the same elements. Katarina says that she is inspired by both classical music and new age meditation music.

Katarina wrote the album to help herself through some difficult times in life. "It was my process of healing".

"Air Drunk" is a solo piano piece written and performed by Katarina. It is the first single from her upcoming album. The cover art was shot by Carl Muphovi. The track was recorded at the legendary Premises Studio in east London. "Air Drunk" was played an old-school grand piano, chosen partly because of the 'aged' sound to the instrument, since it seemed to add more depth to the sound as there had been some life in the instrument.

Katarina Marcinger’s album Love on Slow Burn will be released in early 2023.
